Our Mission
Create supportive homes of choice for adults with autism and similar intellectual & developmental disabilities (IDDs) that give them a sense of pride, accomplishment and dignity through providing services and housing within a natural environment.
Our Vision
Provide independent apartments and community homes within a supportive wraparound neighborhood where adults with autism and others with similar intellectual & developmental disabilities have purpose through living and engaging with others.
Why a Crocus Flower?
The Crocus flower symbolizes rebirth and a never ending cycle of life. It signifies the arrival of spring, the promise of new beginnings and exciting new events.
The Communities of Crocus is a symbol of Hope, of Life, of Choice. The end of loneliness and the beginning of togetherness, a transition from living in a community to being a part of one. A place to engage and connect, participate and support, grow and flourish, to live uninhibited and free.

The founders of COC, Amy Hansel and Emily Peters, are both parents of children with autism and Down syndrome. They are determined to create a space in Wisconsin where their children and others with similar disabilities will be supported and able to reach their fullest potential within a natural environment.

With a very ambitious goal of developing an entire community including care homes, apartments, a supportive hub, and a wraparound community, COC will be very appreciative of all donations.
Communities of Crocus is in the early stages of development and we are not accepting applications for residents at this time. Currently, we are looking for partners and collaborators who would like to work with us on developing the community and/or participating in the Supportive Housing Hub. Please reach out to us so we can discuss possible opportunities to work together.
